Cashless & insurance FAQs

Common questions about cashless treatment

Pre-auth timing, room categories, what to bring, copay — answered.

Do you offer cashless treatment? How do I check if my insurer is on your panel? +
Yes — we are empaneled with most major health insurers and TPAs. The complete, current list is on this page above. If your insurer is on the list, you can avail cashless admission. If you are not sure, call our TPA help-desk before admission with your policy details and we will confirm eligibility in writing.
How long does cashless pre-authorisation take? +
For planned (elective) admissions, pre-authorisation is usually completed within 30–90 minutes once we submit the request with all required documents. For emergency admissions, treatment starts immediately and the cashless request is filed within 24 hours as per IRDAI rules. The TPA typically responds in 1–4 hours for emergencies.
What documents should I bring on admission day for a cashless claim? +
Please carry: • Original insurance card (or e-card on phone) of the patient • Photo ID of patient and proposer (Aadhaar / PAN / Driving Licence) • Doctor's prescription / admission advice • Any previous reports, scans, prescriptions related to the condition • Filled and signed pre-authorisation form (available at our TPA desk) For reimbursement claims, you will also need original bills, discharge summary and prescriptions at the time of discharge.
What is the difference between cashless and reimbursement? +
Cashless: The insurer settles approved charges directly with us. You only pay non-payable items (food for attendants, certain consumables, deductible / copay etc.). Available only at empaneled hospitals. Reimbursement: You pay the hospital bill in full at discharge, then submit original bills and documents to your insurer who reimburses the approved amount to your bank account within 15–30 days. Both are valid — cashless is more convenient when available.
Is Ayushman Bharat (PMJAY) accepted? Am I eligible? +
If we are empaneled under PMJAY (please see the Ayushman Bharat section on this page), eligible patients get cashless treatment up to ₹5 lakh per family per year under the scheme package rates. Eligibility is decided by the government based on SECC-2011 data. You can check your family's eligibility at pmjay.gov.in or call 14555. Bring your PM-JAY e-card and Aadhaar at admission.
Are CGHS, ECHS and ESIC accepted? +
If we are empaneled under the scheme (listed in the Government schemes section above), yes. Please bring the scheme card or e-card along with photo ID at the time of admission. For dependents, a copy of the entitlement / dependant card is required. Treatment is billed at scheme package rates as approved by the respective ministry.
Does the room category I choose affect my insurance claim? +
Yes, in two ways: 1. Room rent limit: Most policies cap daily room rent (often 1–2% of sum insured). Choosing a higher category may mean you pay the rent difference yourself. 2. Proportionate deduction: If you choose a room above your eligible category, many insurers proportionately reduce the entire admissible bill (including doctor fees, OT charges, investigations) — not just the room rent. We recommend checking your room-rent limit with the insurer before choosing the room category. Our billing desk can help.
Which expenses are NOT covered by insurance? Will I have to pay anything out of pocket? +
Even with cashless approval, you will usually pay for: • Non-medical / consumable items (toiletries, food for attendant, hygiene kits) • Items listed in the IRDAI non-payable expense list • Any deductible / copay defined in your policy • Charges above the room-rent limit (and proportionate deductions, if applicable) • Treatment for exclusions specifically listed in your policy Our billing desk shares an estimate before admission so there are no surprises at discharge.
What happens if my insurer denies cashless approval? +
Denial of cashless does NOT mean denial of the claim itself. You can: 1. Pay the bill at discharge and file a reimbursement claim with the original documents 2. Appeal the denial with your insurer's grievance cell (we can provide supporting documents) 3. Approach the IRDAI Bima Bharosa portal if the insurer remains unresponsive Our TPA desk shares the exact denial letter so you have grounds for the appeal.
Are pre-existing diseases (PEDs) covered? What about new conditions? +
Pre-existing diseases are covered after the waiting period defined in your policy — typically 2 to 4 years from policy inception, depending on the product. New conditions diagnosed AFTER policy inception are generally covered immediately (after the initial 30-day waiting period for most non-accident claims). If you are unsure whether your condition qualifies, our TPA help-desk can check the exact terms of your policy before admission.
